How to do tree pose (Vrksasana)

Steps to getting into tree pose:

  • Find your breath and your gaze; the keys to balance while standing in Mountain Pose

  • Place your hands on your hips and raise your right foot onto your left thigh or shin, avoiding the knee.

  • When you have found your balance, place your hands together at the heart or raise your arms up toward the sky

  • Hold for a few breaths

  • Return to mountain pose and repeat on the other side
